Today was one of the best days of the year for me, I gave all the cars a special treat just like I did last year. I think I might be starting my own tradition! Click through to check out what went down.
I woke up at 7:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep so I started setting everything up for the day. I picked up my mate from his place at around 10am and headed back to mine. First up we had to move all the cars out then line them up and what made it hard was that I didn’t want to start the 180sx or the RB26 S13 so it took a while to move them down.
A couple days before I swapped the TE’s and the LMGT4’s on the 180sx and the S15, I prefer it this way but I think I might go back to TE’s on the S15 because they aren’t as aggressive.
The RB26 S13 was the last one to come down and was definitely easier to move than the 180sx because it has no diff so both rear wheels were free to move individually. Parked it up next to the fence, fitted the front half of the blister kit and took off the hood. Think I might drive it like this at some point when it’s finished, looks pretty good with no hood.
Once everything was out and lined up it was time to give them a wash. First up was the 180sx which came out very nice, especially after having not been washed since february this year. It’s been a very long year for this car, I wrecked the motor at the start of the year and then ran into a heap of problems with the rebuild, should be going hard in 2012 though so keep an eye on this one.
After the 180sx was washed and looking good, we started making some lunch. Brought out some sausages and put them on my barbeque and sat down for a bit. I spent a little while taking pictures of everything while lunch was cooking, here’s a few of my favourites from the day.
Onto my blue S13, this one has had the least amount of driving this year as well as the least amount of changes. Since last year I have sold the Vertex kit and replaced it with stock front and rear bars and the wheels have been swapped around a bit. I have some idea’s on what to do with this one for 2012 and hopefully it all goes to plan.
After we had eaten it was about 3pm so decided to start packing everything up. This is the 2nd time I’ve had this setup on christmas day and I’m already looking forward to next year’s christmas. Plus I’m looking forward to see how the cars have changed in a year’s time.
2012 is going to be pretty intense, especially for the RB26 S13 and the plans I have for it. For now I’ll just be gathering parts and working hard to get things done to have them out on track sooner.
Hope everyone had a good christmas, can’t wait till next year!
