Some good stuff turned up this week.
I knew from the very beginning of this build that everything was going to be expensive. As I have said previously, GTR world seems to be three times more expensive than Silvia world.
I’ve also known that the most vital thing to take care of an RB26 is the oiling system. Out of all the research I’ve done on this setup, understanding the oiling system has taken up the majority of my time. Managing the whole system is my number one concern, especially when it can save the engine from detonation.
This is where the Tomei oil pump comes in.
Aside from the turbo’s, the oil pump has to be the most expensive single piece on the car.
I know there are plenty of options when it comes to RB26 oil pumps and they all have their own qualities. But, like I said before about the fuel rail, I wanted to stick with the stuff I know works. Also, it was the fact that 90% of the things I found were presenting it as the best pump money can buy.
So I went ahead and ordered one from Streeter. A couple weeks later it’s here and ready to go on the engine.
More bits have been ordered and should hopefully turn up over the next few weeks.
